How long will I have to wait for my prescriptions?

When providing bedside service, we begin processing your prescriptions as soon as we receive them from your physician. Your prescription(s) will be delivered to your bedside before you leave the hospital. You also have the option of picking up your prescription(s) at Lifespan Pharmacy. Once I have my prescriptions filled, how do I get my refills?

We know it may not be convenient for you to come back to the hospital for your refills. With Lifespan Pharmacy’s automated refill line, you can call in your refills any time, day or night. Our staff will process your refills, package the order discreetly, and ship to your home free of charge. Shipping of prescriptions is coordinated so that you do not run out of medication. Orders will arrive at your home on the earliest possible shipping schedule.

Will my discharge prescriptions go on my hospital bill or are they separate?

Your discharge prescriptions filled at Lifespan Pharmacy are separate from your hospital bill. We will bill your prescription insurance first and you will be responsible for any co-pays upon receipt of the medications.

How do I transfer my prescription to Lifespan Pharmacy?

Lifespan Pharmacy will do it for you. You can bring a current prescription container to Lifespan Pharmacy or call Lifespan Pharmacy at 401-444-4909 (Rhode Island Hospital), 401-793-5500 (The Miriam Hospital), 401-845-1100 (Newport Hospital),401-606-8030 (Lifespan Pharmacy at Corliss Street, Providence) or 401-444-9909 (Lifespan Specialty Pharmacy) with your prescription and pharmacy information. The staff will take it from there.
