The Lawrence A. Aubin, Sr. Child Protection Center at Hasbro Children's Hospital offers a full range of services, including:

  • Comprehensive, trauma-informed medical evaluations for children of all ages when there is a concern of possible child maltreatment.
  • Family support, including education and resources about the behavioral and emotional impact of trauma on children.
  • Psychosocial support and advocacy services for children and families throughout their medical evaluations with follow up as needed.
  • Individualized referrals to mental health services in the community, with follow up by clinic social worker.
  • Collaboration with state child protection agencies, child advocacy centers, local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, and Office of the Attorney General.
  • Telephone consultations available 24 hours a day to support community physicians, child protective services, police, emergency departments, and schools.
  • Lectures and presentations by staff to both medical and community organizations regarding the assessment and care of children experiencing child maltreatment.
