“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Tatiana Bakaeva, MD, PhD
Neuro-Ophthalmologist
Tatiana Bakaeva, MD, PhD, is a neuro-ophthalmologist at Brown Health Medical Group Ophthalmology. She earned her medical degree from I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy in Russia where she also completed her residency in ophthalmology. She earned her PhD in ophthalmology from First Moscow State Medical University, where she completed her thesis on the biocompatibility of implantation materials used in orbital surgery.
Dr. Bakaeva completed her residency in neurology at New York University hospitals, including NYU Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital and Manhattan VA Hospital, and she completed a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr. Bakaeva’s clinical interests include optic nerve disease, double vision, nystagmus and other eye movement abnormalities, idiopathic intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri), ocular stroke, ocular myasthenia gravis, anisocoria, and other neuro-ophthalmological conditions. She is a member of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and the American Academy of Neurology.
