Pediatric Endocrinologist

Monica Serrano-Gonzalez, MD, is a pediatric endocrinologist with Hasbro Children’s, the pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital, and an associate professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr, Serrano-Gonzalez specializes in general pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. Her research interests include the food environment and dietary behavior in children with obesity and diabetes, as well as the intersection between insulin resistance and cardiovascular risk in children.

She has presented at numerous conferences and collaborated on medical research published in academic journals and is a frequent recipient of funding grants from organizations including the Endocrine Fellows Foundation, the Diabetes and Obesity Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Serrano-Gonzalez is a member of the Pediatric Endocrine Society, the Endocrine Society, the Obesity Society, the American Heart Association’s Young Hearts committee, and the Society for Pediatric Research.

She is fluent in Spanish.
