Loreen Pirnie, MD

Loreen Pirnie, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist who treats patients in the adult partial hospital program at Rhode Island Hospital.

She earned her medical degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, and completed a residency, including a year as co-chief resident, in the Brown University psychiatry residency program at several institutions, including Rhode Hospital and its Hasbro Children’s Hospital, The Miriam and Bradley hospitals, and the Rhode Island Department of Corrections.

Dr. Pirnie’s research interests include consult liaison psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, and physician, resident, and student wellness. She has coauthored several articles in peer-reviewed professional journals.

She is a member of the Academy of Consult-Liaison Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association, and received the American Psychiatric Association Public Psychiatry Fellowship and the Connecticut State Medical Society Professionalism Award.
