Linda K. Snelling, MD, is a pediatrician at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Her extensive medical and academic career has focused on pediatric critical care.

Dr. Snelling’s pioneering influence in pediatrics helped build Rhode Island’s premier advanced pediatric specialty care and outpatient center, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, the pediatric division of Rhode Island Hospital. She was one of its first medical directors, later taking on a role with the management group that expanded its scope to house a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center certified by the American College of Surgeons. She was instrumental in the founding of Hasbro Children’s pediatric critical care transport team and pediatric sedation services.

Dr. Snelling has held numerous academic positions throughout her distinguished career as a professor at Brown University, where she is professor emerita of pediatrics, surgery and anesthesiology. She has consistently been named a Top Doctor of critical care medicine by Rhode Island Monthly magazine. 

She earned a medical degree at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of University of Utah and Primary Children's Medical Center. She also completed a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine, both at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where she was chief resident.
