Ivan S. Wolfson, MD

Ivan Wolfson, MD, is a board-certified addiction medicine physician at the Lifespan Recovery Center and a clinical assistant professor of family medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Wolfson previously served as the medical director at Comprehensive Treatment Centers (formerly Discovery House of RI) in Providence, a substance abuse treatment program that provides counseling services and medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder with methadone and buprenorphine (Suboxone). He also worked for more than two decades as the medical director of the Healthcare for the Homeless clinic at Crossroads Rhode Island/Providence Community Health Centers.

Dr. Wolfson earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in family medicine at Brown Medical School and Memorial Hospital.

He is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
