Banreet Singh Dhindsa, MD

Gastroenterologist

Banreet Singh Dhindsa, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist with Lifespan Physician Group Gastroenterology. Dr. Dhindsa specializes in biliary disease, gastrointestinal oncology, Zenker's diverticulum, Achalasia, Barrett's esophagus, and therapeutic endoscopy, including diagnostic and interventional endoscopic ultrasound, advanced tissue resection, and endoluminal stent placement.

Dr. Dhindsa has several poster and lecture presentations to his credit at various national and international scientific meetings, including Digestive Disease Week (DDW) and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). He has collaborated with researchers in the United States and abroad and has over 50 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals such as Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (GIE). In addition, he is the recipient of the ACG Auxiliary award and has won multiple Presidential Poster Awards and Poster of Distinction Awards. He serves on the editorial board of BMC Gastroenterology and was an associate editor of ACG Case Reports Journal. He is a current ACG educational affairs committee member and previously served on the ASGE GI fellows committee. He was also a CAPER (Collaborative Alliance of Pancreatic Education and Research) scholar and writes CME questions for the American Journal of Gastroenterology (AJG).  He is a peer-reviewer for several high-impact journals, such as Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (GIE), Pancreas, and Nature Scientific Reports

He earned a bachelor’s degree in medicine and bachelor’s degree in surgery degree from Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College in Pune, Maharashtra, India. He participated in a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Nebraska, where he served as a chief fellow. He also did a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at New York University’s Langone Medical Center under world-renowned physician Dr. Gregory Haber. In addition, Dr. Dhindsa completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Nevada Las Vegas Medical Center. He won multiple awards in his residency, including the Barbara O Rourke Teaching Award and Researcher of the Year.

Dr. Dhindsa is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
