Seanna Zimmerman, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, is chief nursing officer at The Miriam Hospital.

Prior to her appointment as chief nursing officer, she served as the director of critical care and respiratory therapy at Rhode Island Hospital for two years, where she led the team to increase critical care bed capacity by 15% and achieved Beacon designation on four critical care units, among other accomplishments. She also oversaw the Vascular Access Team, the ECMO Program, and pulmonary therapy departments, implementing evidence-based practices that improved patient outcomes and reduced infection rates.

Zimmerman earned a bachelor of science in nursing with a minor in psychology from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. She earned a master of science in nursing and business administration from Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and earned a doctor of nursing practice, executive leadership from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

She holds prestigious certifications, including NEA-BC and FACHE, and is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and the American College of Healthcare Executives. She serves on the board of the New England Chapter of the Organization of Nurse Leaders and as President Elect for the Rhode Island Chapter of ACHE.
