Melissa Carbone, LMHC, LCDP

Clinical Director

With more than 20 years of experience in the mental health profession and substance use care, Melissa Carbone, LMHC, LCDP, is the clinical director at the Lifespan Recovery Center.

She is a licensed mental health counselor and a licensed chemical dependency professional. As a clinician, she provides individual and group mental health and substance use counseling to patients at the center. In addition, she works with the center’s multidisciplinary team to foster their continuous professional development and administers effective and efficient management of policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure optimal care for patients.

Prior to her role as clinical director, Carbone was a substance use clinician at the center. She gained previous experience in healthcare administration as a practice manager at Rhode Island Hospital and clinic coordinator with Gateway Health. She launched her career at Bradley Hospital, serving as a residential counselor and later as a classroom behavior specialist.

Carbone earned a master of arts degree in mental health counseling from Southern New Hampshire University.
