Martha B. Mainiero, M.D., has recently joined the Lifespan Board of Directors.

The Lifespan Board of Directors has elected a new member - Martha B. Mainiero, M.D., F.A.C.R., F.S.B.I. The volunteer board, comprised of clinical, business and community leaders, oversees Rhode Island’s leading healthcare system and largest employer, guided by its mission: Delivering health with care.

Mainiero is Medical Director of the Anne C. Pappas Center for Breast Imaging at Rhode Island Hospital and Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Brown University’s Alpert Medical School. Throughout her career she has held numerous healthcare leadership roles, including President of the Medical Staff Association of Rhode Island and President of the Association of University Radiologists. She earned her medical degree from Tufts University and completed residency in Radiology and a fellowship in breast imaging at Yale University. A resident of Jamestown, R.I., Mainiero has been on Lifespan’s medical staff since 1995.

“Lifespan’s hospitals and healthcare facilities play vital roles in communities we serve. It is truly an honor to serve on the board of Rhode Island’s leading healthcare system,” Mainiero said.
